Accepting genealogies or books

Books and genealogies
Although our office is closed, we do still accept genealogies and books about Townsends.  As the society genealogist, I consult these types of research helps whenever they are pertinent to helping members do research or writing articles.  We have a core collection of about 40 books, some written a long time ago but still relevant, others are quite new.  Any Townsend family book with up-to-date research is always helpful.

Bibles and Photographs
We do not collect family Bibles due to space constraints, but a photograph of genealogical data within one is welcome.  We do not collect photographs but I am always happy to feature them in our journal.  Both types of materials are candidates for our website if you would like to do that.

Archival Materials
If you have archival material that pertains directly to the Oyster Bay family that lived in Raynham Hall, I would suggest contacting either Harriet Gerard Clark or Jessica Pearl via their website at the Raynham Hall Museum.  County or town historical & genealogical societies are often interested in items specific to their area. These could be diaries, business ledgers, letters, etc.

Our website and journal
Please consider sharing letters, family photos - preferrably identified - and photos taken on visits to family sites that show Townsend houses, gravestones, or anything you think would be of interest to members.  We can place them on our website and/or in the journal.
