RICHARD TOWNSEND, 1620       
                 to Virginia as an apprentice at Jamestown, md in England Frances Baldwin of NTH, two sons [1 d yg], other had 2 daus/1 son who                                                                 d yg., Richard bc1605, d ca 1651, traveled back and forth to England, wealthy family married into well-known VA families.
 
HENRY TOWNSEND, 1631
                a Henry Townsend is granted land in Mass. colony, now Maine.
 
HENRY TOWNSEND, 1633/4
                lived for at least a year on Richmond Island, off the coast of Mass. Colony, later part of Maine, many fisherman were recruited                                                                         from England, he is recorded on the payroll.  No dob or dod, he seems to have gone back to England, is he the same man as Henry                                                               Townsend of the Oyster Bay family?

                 John was brought to Northampton Co., VA by xxxxx  xxxxxxx along with several other men.  xxxxxx received land in exchange for important laborers.  He                         location changes to Accomack Co. when a part of Northampton was used to create this county but within 2 years he had moved to what was later Snow Hill,                     MD.
