We would like to help you with your Townsend genealogy search.

We welcome queries from both members and non-members about any Townsend related issue or Townsend family.  Members receive as much help as they need but all enquiries will be answered, so even if you are not a member, please feel free to send an email to Liane at: editor@townsendsociety.org.

When you contact us with a genealogy question, please provide as much detail as you can, particularly the name of the person along with their husband or wife, child, or parents, if you know it.  Exact dates are nice, but circa dates work well, too.

Although exact location isn't always known, a general idea of where they lived and when is very helpful.  Often these queries and the resulting hunt for an answer provide material for articles in the TSA Journal.

We encourage members to write articles for our Journal that are genealogy related.  They can be about a problem you have solved, an ongoing hunt for that elusive ancestor, or an interesting account of your ancestor's life and their participation in an historical event.  We cover a wide range of subjects, so long as they are genealogy related.  Articles have been written about the famous and the not so, the odd murderer or thief, even a bigamist or two; a little humor is always welcome. If you have a family Bible that could help others in their search, we would be happy to transcribe the entries.

We do ask for sources but they do not have to be a chore since many online resources like Ancestry and Familysearch.org provide them for you to copy and paste.
