The Society has a director, president [Lew Townsend] and journal editor [Liane Fenimore] as well as volunteers and over 500 members to help you with your research. Lew is the administrator for the Townsend DNA program.
Our archives are bursting with information collected over more than forty years.
Journal editor Liane Fenimore welcomes queries and articles from members for publication [email@example.com]. Feel free to post your queries at our On Line Forum.
Members have access to all of our resources (archives, collections, Journals, artifacts, members list) that are in the Members Only section to further aid their research.
Many of our members proudly discuss their family history using the web as a medium. TSA is pleased to support their work by publishing links to their websites. To be included, please contact the firstname.lastname@example.org. Access those currently available by clicking on the Links just below Genealogical Assistance.
All members are encouraged to send family histories with sources to the TSA. GEDCOM and Family Tree Maker files are also welcomed. For information on submission guidelines contact Director@TownsendSociety.org. (If your computer is not set up to send e-mail by Outlook, just copy and paste the e-mail address into a new message.)
Member's comments about the TSA genealogical services :
"When I joined the TSA in 1989 as I started my Townsend research, Martha Burke was able to supply me with pertinent articles from past newsletters and give me the name of another descendant of my great-grandfather." -- L. Townsend
"I joined the TSA and my query was published in the newsletter, immediately I was contacted by a distant cousin. We are now working together to expand our knowledge of a Townsend line." -- H. Townsend
We encourage you to ask us for assistance, but please include as much information as you can such as first names & surnames, locations, and important dates (birth, death, marriage).
