Townsend's Globe

Dennis Townsend was a school teacher and a supt. of schools in the Reading, Windsor County, Vermont area. Around 1870 he invented 'Townsend's Folding Globe'. His family genealogy is on a website, at <http://members.valley.net/~townsend/Townsend_VT.html#T1817>
Townsend's Patent Folding Globe was sold folded in a cardboard cover
Opening the cover shows a key to the countries on the left, and the folded map on the right.
Pulling the rings at the top and bottom opens it into a 6" globe.
