I am curious about RT who traveled with William Penn. I believe that he was from the same area in England as Penn, also spent a lot of time in Delaware, as did Penn. I have never heard which line RT is from but im wondering if it is the Bucklebury, Berkshire line? The fact that Benedictus was from the same area and also lived in Delaware leads me to wonder. thanks, Sue

Richard who came on the Welcome was a Bucklebury Townsend and he is discussed inDavid Greene's article on this family.  He was not actually in Delaware that I am aware of and don't think Greene found him there either.  Of course, the ship sailed up the Delaware River.  But he lived at Bucklebury Mill near Philadelphia and attended the Abington Meeting.  He died at his nephews house in East Bradford Twp, Chester Co., PA.
DNA wise these Townsends and the Benedictus line are related - you can see that on our YDNA page.  The connection was back a couple of centuries in England but no-one has found it.
There are no male descendants from Richard however there are from his brother John Townsend and nephew Joseph Townsend from the same family who came circa 1712.
